Mission Statement:

Touch the lives of children and families through service, teaching and making Jesus and the work of the Holy Spirit the central focal point of our Christian walks.

Vision Statement:

Children’s Ministry exists to prepare children for a life of spiritual discipleship by teaching them that more than anything else, God loves them and wants them to live in relationship with Him.

The Essentials of the Kingdom Kids:

1) Kingdom Kids will be kid-focused and fun.

Children learn best when lessons and activities are developmentally age appropriate and fun! We will strive to always be creative, joyful, and relevant to the life of a child.

2) Kingdom Kids value and equips parents.

Parents are the spiritual leaders of the home. God designed this perfect plan for families so that children will grow in wisdom and stature. The Kingdom Kids ministry encourages and equips parents for the awesome task of child rearing, during church and at home.

3) Kingdom Kids believe the Bible.

The Bible is God’s true Word to every person and should be the truth in every child’s life. Kingdom Kids will be relevant to children, helping children shape their faith in the context of the Scriptures, their relationships and God’s power in their lives.

4) Kingdom Kids values relationships.

Every child needs solid Christian friends and mentors in their lives. These friends and mentors grow closer to one another as children explore God’s world through play and study. Ultimately, our dream is that every child should develop a relationship with Christ and choose Him as their Savior.

5) Kingdom Kids love Jesus.

Kingdom Kids are disciples of Jesus. Kingdom Kids worship, learn, and serve on a regular basis, just like every other member of Downtown Church of Christ. Kingdom Kids are encouraged to grow spiritually through daily prayer, reading and devotions. Kingdom Kids actions speak louder than word.

“These commandments  that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
Deuteronomy 6:6-7

We believe that kids are a big part of God's plan in the Kingdom! Every weekend our kids meet and experience worshiping God, praying for others, and learning Biblical truth in exciting, secure, age-appropriate classrooms.

Our nursery area is open during all weekend services. Children birth through age 3 will receive a special nurturing time filled with song, stories, fingerplays, crafts, and prayer.

Our preschool (Prince and Princess) area is for children ages 3 through Kindergarten and is available during all weekend services. Your children will experience a Sunday school adventure as they learn about God, His creation, and His great love for them. The children participate in fun activities like games, crafts, creative movement, role playing to make learning fun!

Our elementary (Dutch/Dutchess) is for grades 1st-3rd and is also available during all weekend services. Kids Church features great kid-style worship, large group interactive storytelling, and an adult-led relational, age-appropriate small group experience. Lessons are aimed at making the truths of God relevant, fun, and life-changing.

The 4th-6th (Lord/Lady) grade is also available during all weekend services. The curriculum for study and discussion is used to challenge our children as they are discipled and empowered in God’s Word. Kids will be equipped for their futures as disciples of Jesus.

Check-in system: We realize security is very important today for your children. We work hard at ensuring your kids are safe. Check-in for all age groups is at the entrance to Kingdom Kids. Your child will be placed in a class of appropriate age. When registering your children, you (the parent) will receive a security number which will allow us to run the number on the screens during service if your child needs you during the service. This tag should be worn by both you and your child so each child’s group leader can identify you to receive your children. Please remember to pick up your child promptly after service ends. Only an adult or high-school-aged sibling with a security tag may claim your child.
